My singular goal over the past several years has been to become the most exceptional programmer I can be as quickly as possible. Part of it’s because I enjoy the craft. Part of it’s because of some long-term goals I’m intent on achieving with this skill. Part of it’s self-improvement for its own sake.

I’d like to think I’ve had some degree of success in that journey, but I think I can do better. I’ve always found that the best way to make sure I’ve mastered a skill is to teach it to others, and the best way for me to clarify my own thoughts is to write and talk about what I’m thinking.

Thus I’ve decided to make this blog. Here I’ll be sharing things I believe I’ve come to understand about software engineering. I won’t be sharing solutions to specific problems like you might see on stackoverflow; I’m intending something a bit more meta than that. How do you keep your software simple? How do you make architectural decisions? Things like that.

I’m also figuring there’ll be cases where audio and video will be better media for discussing something than text, so in those cases I’ll be making uploads to my new channel. I see the creation of this content as an end in itself, but I hope it proves helpful for folks on their own coding journeys too. Feel free to reach out to me with thoughts, suggestions, and questions.

Thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to interacting with y’all in the near future.
